Social media has changed the business paradigm.  Companies that take advantage of Social Media increase access to and influence its customers.  If improving branding, generating leads, developing good will and providing excellent customer services is important to you, then here are 5 essential steps to achieving Social Media marketing success.

 1. Begin With a Plan
 
Identify your objectives and how you will measure them.  This allows you to put the pieces in place to achieve long-term success, giving a clear focus to the quality of your social media content.
 
2. Establish Your Company Persona(s)
 
Whether personable, professional, funny or knowledgeable, adopting a style that appeals to your target audience(s) ensures your company social voice remains consistent.
 
3. How do you Engage?
 
Prepare guidelines to determine what your team’s responses are, including how to handle negative comments.
 
4. Schedule Content
 
Be smart and use a scheduler to publish content.  Think SharpSpring and Hootsuite.  
 
5. Review your Performance
 
Look at your KPI’s regularly.  Do more of what works; less of that what doesn’t.
